Last night, I had a wonderful experience attending a speaker series event at my school. The CEO of the Martin Agency, Kristen Cavallo, was the featured speaker and my teacher, Jessica Collins, moderated the event. Kristen's topic was women's empowerment, especially in the business world. She shared inspiring knowledge and thoughts about this topic, which is not talked about enough. In her presentation, she encouraged women not to be afraid to step out and know that they are just as good as men. She also advised women to not worry too much about their weaknesses and to focus more on their strengths. Kristen talked about equality and how no one side should be dominant. Her openness about her personal story and journey to where she is now was very inspiring.
I believe what sets her apart is that she is the head of a major company and receives hundreds of calls and thousands of emails every day. Despite this, she still manages to inspire and empower others by dedicating a day every week to volunteering at homeless shelters or helping children. She consistently meets her goals and is a great role model for me and many others. I enjoyed listening to her and took notes during the show. At the end, I had the chance to speak with her and gave her my business card in a unique way. I even took a picture with her, which was a moment I'll never forget.
