"Can You understand the words coming out of my mouth"

Updated: Feb 20

"If I cannot comprehend what you are trying to convey, then you are not speaking in plain language. Plain language is precisely what it sounds like. It is about simplifying the terms that appear on medicine labels and the conditions that you see on most apps before you can use them. This is crucial because:

1. You should be able to understand what you are signing and what you are taking.

2. Who knows what you are really agreeing to?"

In our last class, we had the pleasure of having the owner of Zuula consulting, Deanna Lorianni, as a guest speaker. She shared valuable insights on the impact of plain language and how it affects us all. Deanna did an excellent job of making the topic engaging and easy to understand, embodying what plain language is all about.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class, as I always do, because it exposes me to new job professions in advertising that I was not previously aware of.
